Working as a solicitor in local authority

I'm surrently working 4 days a week in private practice (large regional firm). Been back 12 months since ds1 and there are the usual difficulties associated with having to leave at 5.30, pressure to work at weekends / 5 days of work in 4 etc. I've got an interview for a full time LA post which I'm very keen on. I like the thought of working in an environment which is not focussed solely on creating as much profit as possible for EPs and the different challenges this role would bring. From friends who work in LAs I also think the culture will be more family friendly. I wondered if anyone has any experience of working in a LA? Also, any tips for the intervew?
Thanks v much

I have a friend who is a solicitor in a LA, and my DH was a solicitor in central govt.. Both say the hours are more family friendly on the whole, although my friend actually ends up bringing work home to do after kids are in bed, as otherwise it really piles up.
Sorry, can't help with interview tips though!
