Work

Just want a bit of a rant!

I've been out of work for about 4 months now, and am looking every day for a job, have applied to about 10 or 11 and had a few interviews, but nothing so far. So, applied to two absolutely perfect posts, in the sector, I have exactly the right qualifications and experience etc, and both of these have come back to me saying 'sorry, we've suddenly worked out we can't afford to fund this post'. Arghhh!! Why advertise it then? I know my sector is subject to cuts, but surely you would know if you can afford a post you have clearly spent ages writing jd for and accepting applications for? Madness...

horrid horrid horrid! Try speaking to everybody you know and let them know you're looking for work. Until this week I was out of work for 15 months and finally got a successful contact speaking another mum at a 1st birthday party! It isn't what I was looking for (no recovery since my redundany in my sector) but I was open-minded and have changed direction. Good luck.

It's just daft isn't it! I am letting everyone know, most people in my sector know i am out of work, but sadly, as i say, cuts are being made everywhere :(. I am trying to think of what i could do!!

Possibly they are unsure of their funding / budget or they may be able to prove that they are cutting posts if they advertise and then don't appoint. Not nice for you though.
