Sports scholarships

Hi all, my son age 8 has been offered a prep school scholarship (tennis, he plays for the county) we were not looking or considering it - they contacted us. we are going to visit the school next week to see what it’s all about but not sure about it really. We have 3 sons and although we could just about afford it for him in the reduced fees we couldn’t do it for all 3. Does any one else have a child in a sport scholarship? How did you find it improved their sport? There is a few schools near that offer a tennis scholarship Near us so my thinking is that if one is interested then the others might be to so I won’t be jumping at the first school. We are happy with the school he is at (just our local juniors) and his coaching program so we can look at it form quite an objective stand point I suppose- worried I might love it though 🙈

Think you'll have better chance of answers if you ask as a general education thread. Scholarship/bursary questions common on there. Sorry can't help.
