Can I just share something DD has just written? She is 4 and in Reception and has just written, without help:

The author said "it's August I'm writing a book called the haunted house and it is blue and the wind Blew this morning".

All the spellings and punctuation are her own. I feel I can't share it with anyone else because they'll think I am boasting. sad

Very nice smile

Don't get me wrong, I know it's a pretty rubbish sentence in terms of content and connectives, but I'm still proud of her!

Wow that's amazing!

Well done to your DD smile

Perhaps this can become a not-so-stealthy boasting thread?! wink

Galena Mon 10-Feb-14 20:08:45

Indeed, boast away!

May I add a boast? (or two..)

My DS (6) and DD (4) played adult Monopoly by themselves, following all the rules (and without arguing) for an hour. Was gobsmacked. The only question I got was 'does inherit mean I give or take money from the bank?'

Whilst I was washing up, a very exciting game was being invented between them involving electric shocks. I brightly said 'did you know electric shocks can be used to restart someone's heart?', and DS said, barely pausing the game and with withering dismissal 'that's a defibrillator, mummy'.

Not quite up to your DD, OP, but I'm quietly blown away.

Well done all dc! They are fantastic!

evelynj Sat 15-Mar-14 10:23:11

That's completely awesome!

IMO you should be able to shout it from the rooftops! My ds who is 4 woke me at 3am with the 'very important question' of "how do rocks get far away?"

Hmmmm, though I wouldn't be able to keep up if he was achieving that sort of thing. Amazing ;)

Today we have a slightly paraphrased 'Meg's Eggs':

Meg's eggs
Meg made an egg spell and the three eggs poped out of the coaldron with a... loud CLUNK! They were dinasaor eggs! One of the eggs was a stegrsoras egg, one of the eggs was a tranasaras rex egg. p.s. I dont know the other ones name. The end.

grin She makes me chuckle!
