a recent double blind testing investigation revealed that the results of kineiology were as accurate as blind guessing will try to dig out the article was quite interesting!

i had this done for food intolerances a few months ago and dropped 1.5 stone within a month after eliminating the offending foods.

Also had a "body scan" and it picked up areas of previous injury accurately. The freakiest was a very painful knee I had been suffering with for about 18 months and is now completely painfree (and clickfree).

Normally very sceptical of things like this but was desperate to find the cause of me putting on weight

By eliminating food from your diet you are bound to lose weight bet they told you to lose dairy/wheat/carbs rather than ditch all fruit and veg? Sorry to sound cynical but there is no science behind this you have lost weight cos you're taking in less calories surely?

sorry Jampots - that sounded like I was having a go at you was not was having ago at kiensiology!! Good luck to you losing the weigh that is fab!

no. I was told to ditch the dairy but am ok with wheat. Was told to ditch oranges and grapefruit but all other fruit was ok. My diet previously was low calorie and in fact Im eating more now. The results were very noticeable very quickly

OK in that case I am off to see the kiniesiologist (sp?) next door -- convert number 1 of the thread!

HMB

Have you tried it? This was my reaction - until the Knesiologist diagnosed dd food allergies (before blood test results from the hospital arrived - mirroring the Kneisologists findings) imho the Kneisologist was more accurate than the hospital as she went through far more possible allergens than the blood tests test for

I also saw her after my dd results and they can test for not just allergens but inbalances in hormone levels etc too - I had to cut out dairy and it stopped my horrendous PMT that I had had every month for two weeks since a teenager

My ds was also tested and she urged me to get full blood work done on him as he was severly anemic - the docs blood work confirmed this and he is now seeing a Consultant for a (so far) unknown iron absorbtion problem

It is facinating to have done and extremley accurate (imo)

She also diagnosed virtually nil levels of EFA's in both my children (they don't like fish) have had them on fish oil supplements every since - within a month dd's teacher commented on her attention span being much better (had not told teacher, obviously about supplements)

recently a couple here in brittanny were served with prison sentences for allowing their 1 year old son to die. They were both teachers, so relatively inetelligent people, but had come under the influence of a kinesiology group and their son consequently died of malnutrition. I'm not saying all kinesiology is dangerous - but these people were apparently taking it a lot too far.

teevee - thats terribly sad.

The lady who I saw did stress the importance of using a calcium fortified milk substitute and I think I do have a good balance diet usually comprising fish, vegetables, chicken, fruit, potatoes, lamb.

Ive also noticed my periods are not as painful nor as heavy

my new assistant at work is a kinesiologist

it sounds utterly mad and she keeps offering to do it on me. apparently my bad back is linked to 'negative emotions'. she'll be negative once I have sacked her

Hi

Would suggest you read what www.quackwatch.org have to say about this "therapy".

Its another example of quackery.

Report
MeerkatsUnite · 02/07/2005 16:58

The concepts of applied kinesiology do not conform to scientific facts about the causes or treatment of disease. Controlled studies have found no difference between the results with test substances and with placebos. Differences from one test to another may be due to suggestibility, distraction, variations in the amount of force or leverage involved, and/or muscle fatigue. If you encounter a practitioner who relies on AK muscle-testing for diagnosis, head for the nearest exit. Meanwhile, it would help if science-based kinesiologists would stop referrring to what they do as "applied kinesiology."

Report
jampots · 02/07/2005 17:18

so it doesnt work then and the outcome is as suggested by the practitioner?

MU, that site is IMO ridiculous, it damns everything from chiropracters to homeopathy. They obviously have it in for any and all alternatives to conventional treatment.
