I had it and really liked it. A bit uncomfortable to have it put in (local anaesthetic) and a bit weird that you can really feel it under the skin. I have a tiny scar where it was taken out but for a few hassle free years I'd defo recommend it.

Took a while for spotting to settle down as well.

Have recently had it taken out after 7months of heavy bleeding. It just didn't agree with me. I had terrible mood swings and just didn't feel like the normal me. Now back on the combined pill.

Have a talk with family planning and see what they suggest, the reason i got the implannon was I ocasionaly forgot to take my pill. But for me it was the worst form of contraception I have ever tried. Because it only has the one hormone it didn't agree with me and I was constantly bleeding, they said it was the womb lining shedding, I also had terrible skin with it too. But it may well suit you to have the implannon in your arm, they give you a trial of 6months for the spotting to stop and if it doesn't they give you 3months supply of the pill on top of the hormone thats already in the implant and that usually settles it (obviously not for me)then it should be in place for a further 21/2 years before they take it out and replace a new one in your other arm.
