Is there any point in getting confirmation that you're peri-menopausal?

I think I might be - stinking moods, night sweats, strange periods, etc etc .
Nearing the big 4-0, so a bit earlier than I'd hoped for, but no more DCs planned, so not the end of the world.
I can't do anything about it, so will a diagnosis help any? Is it a simple blood test thing?

When this happened to me, I did go and see the GP. Was concerned about osteoporosis if I had an early menopause.

Gp did some bloods and also an ultrasound scan (family history of ovarian cancer). I decided to go onto HRT and my symptoms have settled really well.

Will stay on it now. Lots of pros and cons to HRT.
