Sudden period irregularity TMI alert!

Since I came off the pill in Apr 08, I've had regular periods that arrived day 27-29. I saw my husband for one week towards the back end of my cycle but got my period as predicted on day 29. Got to day 18 of this cycle and got light brown discharge had it for 3 days now. I normally get a light start to my period, but this is 10 days early. I'm slightly worried as I had an abnormal smear earlier in the year and am waiting to return to the UK soon so I can get a repeat. But I heard that its bright red blood between periods that shows there's something up with your cervix. Has anyone else had the irregular light brown thing? Its been pretty full on workwise, so I'm wondering if stress has brought this on? Also I had the mother of all UTIs at CD26 last cycle which never happens to me. Is there anyone there who can help explain my sudden randomness? thanks!

How old are you?
I am 37 and this has started happening to me too, my period is coming evry 3 weeks and a few days before I have a few days of light brown discharge then a break of a few days then a period of 2 days whereas before it was 5.
Am wondering if its my age and the start of Meno pause? Great.
Reminds me must bookan appt with GP!

If its the start of my menopause or perimenopausal symptoms then marvellous because I'm 31!! Menopause tends to be fairly late in my family (for those who are still in possession of a uterus) so I hope not! I'm not near a doc here- perhaps you could go to yours and see what they say and get back to me?!

maybe for you it is stress related?

Fair enough, it could be stress related- its gone today and its CD 22, so I'll what happens in 7 day!
