Could be anxiety, would make perfect sense am going through a tough time at moment/depression etc.

However last night lying in bed I felt a bit like pressure on my chest, right in the middle between my boobs. I can feel it today, feels uncomfortable, not wholly painful, just wierd.

Am very tired and run down at moment. I can feel it in my shoulder as well, like an ache.

In my chest it feels like a bruise right in tthe middle or slight pressure. When I was out this morning and had to rush round I felt unwell. It's not painful to touch.

Am now sitting on the sofa taking it easy.
Any ideas?

I am not a doctor, but do you feel sick too?

Here are heart disease symptoms (it doesn't sound like you have it. Maybe you have pulled a muscle?):

The Warning

A Heart Attack may cause some or all of these symptoms:

Pain, pressure, fullness, discomfort or squeezing in the center of the chest

Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing

Stabbing chest pain

Radiating pain to shoulder(s), neck, back, arm(s) or jaw

Pounding heartbeats (palpitations) or feeling extra heartbeats

Upper abdominal pain

Nausea, vomiting or severe indigestion

Sweating for no apparent reason

Dizziness with weakness

Sudden extreme fatigue

Panic with feeling of impending doom

A note about women's milder symptoms - About a third of women experience no chest pain at all when having a heart attack and 71% of women report flu-like symptoms for two weeks to a month prior to having more acute chest discomfort or severe shortness of breath. These milder symptoms are under-reported to emergency room staff.

Well I was trying to figure out if been doing anything to pull a muscle there, but can't think of anything.

Just very tired and pressure in middle. And in my shoulder. Might just be discomfort I'm reckoning

I think you should talk to a doctor tbh.

If you have slightest suspicion it might be your heart then you should be dialling 999, not asking hanging around asking MN.

That's my advice

You should get medical advice - but I always get this when I am anxious or depressed ,I did go to gp and had an ECG everything fine but it is a form of panic attack.

Have you had a cold/chest infection recently? I had a bout of pleurisy a while back and that made my chest and especially my shoulder sore. If you have an infection in your lung lining it can give you shoulder pain, my shoulder pain was very concentrated in one point IYSWIM. If it's this you'll prob. need antibiotics.

No cold or chest infection.

Pleurisy - poor you, that is really painful I hear.

This isnt painful, just uncomfortable and had it for about 16 hours.

Am lying down now and it's still there. In one small area, Don't want to call the doctor cos I feel like a hypochondriac, especially if it is anxiety, so trying to chill out.

Does it hurt when you breathe in? Do you feel dizzy or anything?

If it is anxiety (I've had similar feelings), you probably won't feel better until you have seen your GP and told that's what it is IYKWIM.

It's Friday.....get an appointment this afternoon (just tell the receptionist you have chest pain - that'll get you in!) so you don't feel like this all weekend.

no doesn't hurt, don't feel dizzy. occasionally get bouts of feeling like there is more presure then before. When I was out earlier I felt pretty rough and teary. Put it down to feeling down

Am sitting here and it just feels like pressing on my chest, like someones got a couple of fingers and is pressing on it.

I think I'm just worrying myself!

sounds like a tight chest due to stress.Stress does horrible things and hits you in your weakest spot. This might be your weak spot. Do you feel like stretching your arm and putting it over your head. I know it sounds daft but my ex had similar symptom with stress

if it goes at night and then comes back when you waken it is stress.

TRY NOT TO FOCUS YOUR MIND ON THE AREA OF DISCOMFORT.

Try not to think about it all. I was told everyone has a weak spot that tends to "hurt" when you are stressed. IT is very real to you.but it is only spasms and tension. If you know you are anxious try and find something to keep you busy and to take your mind off it
