DD (aged 5.5) wakes up with tummy ache every morning - any ideas why....please?!?!

Its every morning (perhaps 6 out of 7). I know she's not kidding by the contorted look on her face. Quite often I'll find her with her head over the toilet feeling 'sicky' too. Any advice would be gratefully received.

Is she happy at school,worried about anything there?

Bowel habits regular?

Is she constipated? Or, perhaps, has she come to associate the feeling that she needs to do a poo with feeling unwell?

I've thought of these things too BIWI & gg. I'm wondering if I should take her along to get tested for allergies etc???

I should add that its not always just a morning; it can be at any time of the day really. I've thought of diet etc too.

Hi there. My dd (7) also complains that her tummy hurts all the time. She tends to tell me this first thing in morning, or just before bed. She's been consistent about it for a long time. My gut feeling (no pun intended) is that there's nothing wrong, but I think I'm going to have to take her to doc as she's said it for so long. I'm inclined to think it's hunger really, but it does worry me sometimes (but I really don't think the doc's going to do anything).

So interested to see if anyone else has any ideas about your dd.

my ds has mesenteric adenitis - which is swollen glands in the stomach. It comes and goes - and causes stomach ache right in the middle (constipation is often a bit lower and to the left I think). Pain killers don't seem to help much. Lots of kids get it and grow out of it in time.

I keep wondering about stress too but it comes at such odd times. Obviously I wouldn't rule anything out; I just want it to stop for her!

My DD used to complain of tummy pains, in the end we realised her 'sore tummy' was actually when she was feeling hungry, does your DD complain even after eating?

hi, i have been having with dd7 for 3 months.
yes she has some emotional problems becuase of her absent dad, She has complained about the tummy aches randomly, and they are often accompanied by headaches.

GP said virus. I thought, yep knw you'd say that. On saturday I went to the health food shop and got some sachets of probiotic, esp for kids. This is too help the bacteria in her tummy, get balanced again.

Apparently one sachet = about 20 actimels, and actimels and such are pretty crap/manufacturing rip off. There have been no tunmmy aches for 4 days now. have also started making her eat better. Oats are a good cleanser, so have bought.

It can prob be found cheaper, in a capsule form but is ok for the first round of operation get well iyswim!
