ringworm on head - GP or OTC cream?

Dh has a patch of what I'm sure is ringworm on his head. Have looked at various sites which say OTC creams etc are available except for scalp ringworm. So, Silly question alert....does it count as scalp ringworm considering DH is bald as a coot. He will really resist seeing a GP for this.
Does anyone know why scalp ringworm is different?

Don't know why scalp ringworm is different, but if you have hair there, it causes it to fall out in circles. If your DH won't go himself to the Doc, could you just ask a pharmacist? If he needs a prescription, then get behind him with a garden fork and make him go to the doctor, because ringworm is very contagious.

lubblyjubblies ringworm of scalp should be treated systemically. you need a medicine that gets into the blood system that gets to the route of the hair follicle. The normal treatment is a course of grisofulvin but if he wont go..you can buy fluconazole over the counter. How do you know it is ringworm??
Defintiely ask the pharmacists advice but he really shud see his doc as its difficult to eradicate
