Swollen lymph node in armpit

I am very anxious when it comes to cancer as my sister has had breast cancer. I am 7 weeks pregnant and yesterday I found a lump in my armpit. I saw the GP today and he said that it was a swollen lymph node most likely due to shaving, normally they would prescribe antibiotics but prefer not to when pregnant.

I have googled (I know I shouldn't!) and it says that swollen lymph nodes are caused by three things:

  1. An ingrown hair when shaving (GP's diagnosis)

  1. An infection caused by using anti-persperant.

  1. Cancer.

How does my GP know that mine is not swollen because of cancer? I could have breast cancer that has spread to the lymph nodes. My sisters breast cancer didn't present itself with lumps in the breast even though she had three seperate tumours in the breast.

I don't know what to do.

You do, lovie.

You need to go back and see another doctor.

Do you think?

They will just say the same. I asked him if it could be a tumour and he said no it wasn't presenting itself as a tumour and it wasn't in the area near the breast. I'm not thinking it is a primary breast tumour, I'm thinking that is breast cancer that has spread to the lymph nodes. I know that is a lot of overthinking on my part but this is what I do.

I hate how a lot of us feel we mustn't argue with, or question, doctors but one really let my daughter down and I have learnt they do not know everything and do get it wrong.
