Could implanon be causing my health problems?

I had the implanon implant in march thinking it would give me 3 convienient years of contraceptive but within the first week of having it I felt tiredness like i've never felt before, but things have been getting gradually worse and today I have been to see my GP with this list of symptoms..

Tiredness, I'm up at around 7am with DC by 9am I want to go back to sleep.

Mood swings, Bouncing off the walls happy one day, don't want to speak to anyone the next, and if I do speak I either take it out on DC or DH.

Headaches.
Lack of concentration.
Constant spotting.
Stomach cramps.
Lower back pain.
Nausea.
Hot flushes.
Diarrhoea.

My Gp is sending me for blood tests and i've got to be honest i've been worrying about what they will find, but I have always been a very healthy person the most I ever get wrong with me is a cold and it just seems that all of these symptoms have come on since having this implant fitted.

Has anyone else using implanon as a form of contraceptive had any of these problems?

Those are all listed as possible side effects. Have you still got the leaflet from the box?

I've only had mine in a few days but 2 friends who've had them in for longer were talking about hot flushes the other day.

I guess you could just be really unlucky with it Try not to worry too much until you get results from the doctor and if it needs to come out, then it's a simple process and you'll just have to rethink. Perhaps a coil?

Also I don't know if it works for any other symptoms but my doctor mentioned if you get prolonged bleeding with it, they can put you on the pill as well for a while, which can help it settle down.

Thanks pinkspottywellies
I have lost the leaflet but have googled side effects of implanon since starting this thread and like you said most of my symptoms are listed. I'm still really worried though especially as my hair has now started to fall out.

I had one in after having ds2. I had severe headaches lasting for 2 weeks at a time followed by 2 weeks of constant bleeding. After the 1st 3 months (the amount of time they say it may take to settle down) This stopped & I had heavy spotting daily. It took a further 4 months to have it taken out, but went back to normal within a couple of days.
