Weird pulsing in one ear

I haven't been swimming lately. And no, it is not a discarded relic of bizarre sexual activity, but there is an odd intermittent pulsing in my right ear. Please tell me this doesn't mean that a bug has laid eggs in there which are going to eat my brain.

Could be a trapped nerve?? Trapping a blood vessel???

I once read a news paper article about a boy that had a spider stuck in his ear. It won't be this though.

High blood pressure?

Well I can hear a pulse in my ear ( it can be either or inbetween) and its been called tinitus by my gp. Having said that I know it is my own pulse I can hear and I that its worst when my neck needs manipulating (whip lash injury decades back)! Of course it may be different to what causes yours but Ive had it on and off for years now so figure mine is just a nuisance.
I had some investigations to rule out various things.
I would suggest the GP to get it checked out.

I have constant tinitus which is nothing like a pulse and whilst I know everyones tinitus is different, my aunt had high blood pressure which gave her a whooshing pulse sound in her ears/head. She told me she knew how I felt...oh no she didn't.

Have you had it checked yet SGB?

You may have some hardened wax and need it syringed out. There may be some water behind it from showering

It feels mostly like what happens when you get water in your ears from swimming.
But it has gone today anyway.

I get it too and always in my right ear. from googling it can be a kind of tinnitus - pulsatile tinnitus. I have mentioned it to the doctor before but they didnt seem bothered about it. I have had it for years.

Glad it has gone SGB. There is very little worse than constant noise that no one else can hear...medical science has yet to find a treatment or cure for it
