I had swine flu - or what was thought to be swine flu last week. Started off with headache Saturday 18th, other flu symptoms came n went within 3 days.

I now still have teh same headache, I am vomiting, nauseous all the time, very weak, dizzy spells, exhausted, tearful.

I have been prescribed aspirin, co codamol and anti sicky drugs... Also have clotting disorder (reason for aspirin maybe)

i have got increasingly worse adn had to call in sick again today after leaving yesterday to see the doctor. Doc didnt give no inclination as to what it could be... Booked in for blood tests on Fri.

DH is on his way home and in insisting on taking me to A&E

I am getting weaker, i can barely walk, I am drinking lots to try n keep myself hydrated.

Anyone any ideas?

If so get to A and E.

I too would take you to A&E. It could be many things, raised pressure in your spine/head springs to mind. What time does DH get home?

I really do hope that you are OK by the way.

he'll be home in about 30 minutes. not projectile vomiting nicky. Just feel sicky for ages then i vomit (TMI sorry!)

fluffly i have seen two doctors, one on sunday and one yesterday, wouldnt they have picked up on the pressure thing.

I thought my BP was raised yesterday it was 125/89, usually around 89/60. I am a petite person so to be a bit on the low side is normal i was told.

That's high if it's normally low. Do you feel better when you lie down?

nickytwotimes · 28/07/2009 17:12

Not TMI at all!
Let him take you to A and E.
Blood tests on Friday is no use.

Is your vision OK? A little blurred?

Report
Julezboo · 28/07/2009 17:18

Fluffy - when i lie down i feel drunk - you know that room spinning sicky feeling you get when you have had too much to drink.

My vision is ok mostly, when the headache is at its worst its blurry. For instance yesterday i was sent on an errand in work (im PA) I had to pull over because i couldnt see properly out my right eye.

It's normal if a person's BP is on the normal scale, as yours is normally low then this is not normal for you. If your BP was normally 120/90 then a BP of 156/119 (which is the difference between your normal and what it was yesterday) then this really isn't normal (if you see what I mean)

Thanks fluffy, i will give in and let DH take me to A&E quite scared tbh which probably isnt helping. I had a stroke when I was 20 (7 years ago) and although i am pretty healthy it doesnt stop me worrying

Thankyou. You really do need to get this checked out, it doesn't sound right to me. It could just be a nasty migraine but you need looking at to rule out raised pressure, especially with your past medical history.

Let me know how you are because I'll be worrying all night.

I hope that everything's OK.

Take it easy and go slow. There's no hurry. Try not to worry, it could be something really mild.

did you mention night sweats to GP they can be a sign of other illnesses. hope you feel better asap, and please let your DH take you

Just to echo others with your history you need to get this checked. Chances are it's something viral and will pass with rest etc but don't take any nonsense - a headache that's lasted 10 days and weakness etc is NOT simple flu and needs looking at. Good Luck

Hi fluffy,

So sorry, we got back late, nothing too serious. They put drops in my eyes so only now am able to make out words on the screen.

I am ok, nothing to panic about, still feeling weak and woozy but maximum painkillers and i got some sleep last night...

Nope... He said if I could get my glasses sooner they may help.

I am thinking though its a migraine which makes me feel like a wimp! But I hear they can have this affect on people?

Migraines can be really nasty, some people can't walk/vomit etc. They can give you something to help with them though.
