Anyone had left over pain (nerve pain?) after a bladder infection? A bit unnerving...

Quick run down... 4 weeks post-partum, had epidural, catheter, etc, felt no sense of urgency for going to the loo for several days and realise that is one of the reasons I ended up with serious infection, up, past bladder into tubes but not quite kidneys... all cleared up with antibiotics.

Once the sensation staretd to come back, half way through antib's btw, I startedt o have quite a lot of pain in the bladder itself when doing a wee/finishing. That was 2 weeks ago, and it's still a problem, if not quite as bad. No infection now, but coudl I have got nerve damage that is still a problem.

or what?

OBGYN appt. in a couple of weeks, but interested to hear from others.

cheers

have you had your urine retested to make sure there is not a residual infection or resistant bug???

see your gp

Hi, I've no real answer but I had an ongoing urine infection they couldn't clear up that lead to a full blown kidney infection. (9months after a section with catheter).

Three years on it still stings when I wee, but varies from day to day. have had investigations by a urologist but they didn't find anything except some redness. It is early days for you so it may be just some residual inflammation from the urine infection. keep going back to your GP and demand answers. It is really bloody uncomfortable, I know. If you are stuck, look at the COB Foundation website. It might scare the pants off you but it has loads of ideas if your GP cannot help you.

Sorry, I've probably scared you with my 'worst case scenario' but just wanted to share my experinces. Hope it works out.In the meantime, drink plenty of water and go to the loo frequently to flush your self out.

Thank you so much - Luva, yes, I think I should probably get retested, even though every other symptom has gone...

FBB - I'm going to leave reading the website for a day or two

but thank you anyway, interesting to know there is such aproblem out there......
