Serious owie - ripped half my toenail off!

Just managed to seriously stub my big toe and have bend over half of the nail back, it's still attached to the bottom half of the nail but is clean ripped off the nail bed.

I'm too scared to touch it, have just wrapped it up with a dressing and surgical tape - what the hell do I do?? It's not bleeding that badly but the pain is making me feel sick. It's very firmly attached to the rest of the nail though.

I'm also in the 2 week wait following ovulation so don't want to take pain killers in case I am pregnant (yes I know I'm being silly!)

Should I just leave it wrapped up until it falls off?

Urgh. Yes leave it covered, but not too tight or it might go all wrinkled like you've been in the bath too long.
