Had tooth out about 5 days ago. Now have a nasty taste in mouth and smell. Looks like could be dry socket cos can see big hole where tooth was. Not in pain (yet) more a sort of tingly. Do I need to go back to dentist or can I self treat with mouthwash etc and wait for it to heal? This bearing in mind it's the weekend and going on holiday on Monday.

mine too ages to heal tasted funny too for a few weeks (rather until the gum healed over). i think you'd really know if you had a dry socket as the pain is meant to be insufferable.
