Contraceptive implant question

I had the implant fitted two months ago and since then I have bled quite heavily most days. I am also quite grumpy (though this might be due to normal stress and strain).
I was just wondering if anyone has had this and then it settled down? Do I need to be patient or shall I have it out?
Thank you.

had real trouble getting it removed tho , doc was very reluctant and i had to keep going back, prescribed the oral pill to take as well but didn't really help either,

i was due to have mine out last month, i had it out in march because I dled constantly, in the 2 1/2 yrs i had a 12week long period and a 10 week long period. I got fed up to the back teeth with it and demanded it out. would never have it again.

on the flip side, my SIL and several friends have had the implant, and once in they never had a period till it was removed!

IME it seems your'll be one or the other ie you'll bled loads and frequently or never have periods, its a gamble!

Thank you.
It is definitely working as a contraception I suppose...

I had mine in for three years and I found I bled a lot at first but the gaps between periods got longer and longer until I was only having three periods a year by the end of the first year of having it in. The periods were about 10 days long but extremely light (equivalent to the 2nd or 3rd day of a 'normal' period).

However I also:

-was incredibly moody and unpleasant to be around, I felt really flat and lethargic.

-gained a lot of weight I couldnt shift. I started it as a size 14/16 and was a size 20 by the end of the three years. However in the last six months of having it the weight started to drop away, I guess as the hormone levels began to drop. I was back to a 14/16 within a month of having it out.

-Had lots of 'pregnancy' symptoms for the last six months - nausea/bloating etc

-found my fertility returned really quickly. It took me three months to conceive DD1 and three months after the implant was removed I was pregnant again (DC2 due in Sept). I didnt get pregnant whilst on the implant so I guess it worked in that way!
