ds is 8 1/2 months and the last couple of days hes been off his food and crying when foods in his mouth, hes had a slight temp and been really sleepy, hes cheeks are flushed and he has orangy - greeny oily kinda nappys is he teeting or could it be something else? is it ok that hes not eating much hes still having his bottles, the only food he will have is cold things is this ok?? he hasnt actually got any teeth i can see his two front bottom ones in the gum but they havent come through yet, all he seems to want to do is sleep and chew, hes always been a dribbly baby so cant tell if hes dribbling more or not, if he is teething how long will it last each time?

Try giving him Calpol or a teething gel and see if that helps. I used to think oh I can't shove Calpol down my baby's throat for teething but I found at worst, I only had to do it three nights running, one dose per night.

The temp though might suggest a bit of an illness.

his temps not very high and bonjela doesnt eem to help nurofen helped a bit, just wondered if its normal for him to go off solid food, he was checked over by h.v today said he wasnt ill but didnt tell me if he was teething or not, you can get granules do they work?

Did you mention to the health visitor about his stools as they shouldnt really change colour/texture due to teething at least i didnt think so.

i did she didnt seem worried, he was there for a general development check. i have heard some people say stools do change and some people say they dont, he seems to perk up for an hour or so then get grizzly and tired again, im most worried about his eating is it ok for him to go off solids when hes teethig?? and should he be sleeping so much??

IME nappies do change. from what i have read here i think it is an indication.

I think they go off eating too. I can never understand the recommendation to give them something to chew on to relieve their teething pains as mine often went off food when they were teething. I used to give them teething gel prior to a meal to help them eat and Calpol if they woke up crying in the middle of the night.
