For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Toot - if you were next to me I might hug you, but I'm not doing those poky shitty brackets that you like so much.

This is a good title.

Torchwood is on again in a minute. I am hoping for another glimpse of Captain Jack's mighty fine arse.

You can sit next to me but you have to be quiet. I'm concentrating very hard on the alien invasion. And CJ of course. Pwhoooar.

I might have a Solero mini.

Is that 19 hours until you fly SB??????

I don't do camping, although I think I would like it if I just let go and stopped being so fussy and anal.

Hope today is better for you Toot.

there will be no talk of doughnuts on this thread. or pumpkins sex

i have pumpkins, there was certainly no pumpkin kama sutra on the back of the seed packet i bought...though they do look a little spindly and straggly...

thanks, i am doing ok, but very challenging week and trying very hard to focus on me and family as i know i will lose it otherwise
could not tell if you were being serious toot but if i have said i am not the person to ask for help, i really mean it

huge amounts of home ed stuff being organised here, plus today is 4th (and hopefully last for a while) day of looking after other people's children
trying to help friend whose dad has died
trying to help gnormans who are leaving next week, we had a little good bye party for them
giving blood later lemur! thanks for kick up the arse about that
as well as the reasons you said, Mrs Glowy had to have loads of blood earlier this year when she haemorrhaged so it is helpful to have personal reasons to spur you to doing it

not a good week for me and dp
he can't run and it makes him grumpy
i am struggling with dc but he can't support me atm
it's hard isn't it
ds2 woke up every hour last night! another tooth maybe? that big one popped out 2 days after we saw you lemur, do you remember he was unhappy? it was a relief to see it appear
ds1 wanting more attention than i have to give him! trying to concentrate on all this and get it sorted

am going to have mn break as from tomorrow and see how much i can get done over weekend without evil screen! hopefully loads

better go, ds2 covered (and i mean covered) in muesli

hope toot and all ok and sorry am not any use in that respect atm

Make sure you have a quieter week next week Franny, don't spread yourself too thin.

Also make sure you drink well all day and have something to eat before you give blood

DH also gets grumpy and fidgety if he can't run and it does my bloody head in.

You let ds2 feed himself muesli

Morning. Sorry for all the tired / fed up / sad people. Children are exhausted - i think it's end of term thing here - only a week to go.

I had to get a new fridge freezer yesterday - and found one with a big dent in the middle for half price. I explained to the shop man that I didn't really care about the dent, it doesn't make any difference to it's actually usefulness, - and said 'you just keep food in it don't you'. And he looked at me with horrified expression like he thought I was actually asking what a fridge is for and said 'yes, it's for keeping food in, it keeps food cold'. It's coming on Monday, which is good as warm cheese is horrid.

Report

Lolol at yes it keeps food cold.

I think everyone is worn our this time of year aren't they, nearly the end of term and everyone is hot and bickery or wet and grumpy. August is meant for lying around sipping cool drinks and reading in the sun in a lazy restorative fashion.

My new oven is fab, big and black with loads of rings and oveny bits. I can't wait to cook on it. If I was selling a cooker I might have emptied out my toast crumbs, though I must say it is a lot cleaner than my current cooker.

Hope you all cheer up/feel better/solve problems/eat more/less, delete as appropriate.
