Are you in a swine flu area? Not sure if you can get it without a cold and/or fever, but possibly.

That said, I've had those symptoms in the past from food poisoning, and migraine...so might be a case of taking painkillers and waiting to see what develops, I'm afraid.

HOpe you feel better v soon, no matter what it is!

throat and ears started on Saturday...other symptoms this morning and getting worse as the day progresses; I'm now feeling faint and dizzy

swine flu hadn't crossed my mind, but there have been a few cases of it round here, including two deaths . I'm going to call the docs in the morning if I'm no better.

DH thinks it's "man" 'flu, but that's only because he is miserable and on ABs with cellulitis and doesn't like it when he has competition for most pathetic specimen!!

Strangely dp developed man flu today and came home from work at lunchtime!

Fortunately he was able to collect dd from school for me and is lounging on the sofa downstairs. I am weakly mumsnetting at intervals from my phone in bed!

It's nice to have a mumsnet lukozade buddy. Hope you get some good sleep tonight and feel better tomorrow morning...keep up the fluids!

How are you doing today, Daisy? Did you have a good night?

I had a good night and am feeling better than yesterday thank goodness.

Dp is still languishing but is better than I am. I am going to be up to books and tv today I reckon - hurrah!

Can I join you under the duvet please. Really need some sympathy, not swine flu but chest infection and I am coughing my guts up,sore throat, not sleeping, being sick and waiting for the Anti-b's to work.

Was meant to be going to Bristol Zoo today with my two youngest today and was really looking forward to it, but won't be leaving the sofa except to break up fights and feeding the little angels.

Mrs gokwan you have my sympathy - it is so hard to look after youngsters when you are ill. Are you all watching DVDs this morning?

I managed a bath and new sheets on the bed so am feeling perkier, may even risk a cup of tea!

Are you having honey drinks?

Lachadaisy, that sounds like the throat infections that have been going round here.

Still feeling bleargh, but better than yesterday. Glad you're feeling a bit better as well.

I'm hoping to get back to bed for a bit when the little ones go down for a nap later, but they rarely nap at the same time these days so that might not work.

am the same! Yesterday I was headachy, really achy, mild sore throat, struggling to stand up to do basic jobs. Felt sick for much of the night. No temp, no cough. Somewhat better today but not great. dd was headachy and v. tired yesterday and really unlike herself so am keeping her off today and see how she goes.

Hope you all feel much better soon.

Cheers Podrick. Cbeebies is king at the moment but they are wanting constant hugs and attention, usually when I am in the middle of a coughing fit and then fighting who gets to sit next to me. They won't go out doors at all and play and I even filled the pool up for them to splash in, just want me aaaarrrrggggghhhh!!

Glad you are feeling perkier, a bath and clean sheets are real pick me ups.

Yep! taking the honey which is starting to help, just wish I had thought of it at 5 o'clock this morning while I was hacking my guts up.

Mmmm, I had three children all cuddling in earlier.....as the sweat was lashing off my brow!

DS1 was sent home from school so I had to put my clothes back on a drive over to get him. He has the same lurgy as well.

I hope everyone is feeling a bit perkier this evening.

Daisy I feel for you.

I had to drag myself out to pick my eldest up from school, it's a 45min to hour each way walk to get him. Chickened out this morning and sent him by taxi. DH came home early and sent me to bed for a couple of hours to catch up on some sleep, came back down after he had put them in bed and put my dinner in front of me. Still coughing my guts up and dreading another sleepless night.

I wany my muuuuuummmmmmy.

You sound bad Mrs GW

I hope you have a better night. I'm feeling much better and have just eaten something as I realised I was hungry for the first time in days.

I'm still all hot and bothered though.

How are all the occupants of the sanitarium this morning?

I have changed the sheets on the mumsnet virtual bed and poured lucozade for all.

I felt a bit better yesterday and am worse again today, probably should have stayed in bed all day yesterday not pottered about the house. Am about to go back to bed now again.

Daisy sorry to hear about poor ds1.

MrsGW sounds like a heroic school pick up - did it kill you? I had to do one in the car and that was bad enough!

Riven - not you too! How are you today?

BAdkitten how is your house of sickness this morning?

Cheers Podrick, clean sheets and lucozade greatfully accepted. Sorry you are not feeling as good today though.

Anti-b's are starting to do their work, not coughing as much today but it still hurts to cough and I managed about 3 hours sleep last night woohoo!!

Hope everyone else is on the mend as well.
