Always tired.

I am always tired and I mean always. Already I am starting to feel tired and if I sit still long enough my eyes will begin to close.

I normally sleep all night for about half 10 to half 6 sometimes later. So I get a good amount of sleep.

I have 2 boys who are 2 and 6 months. I do feel they are loosing out a bit especially DS1 as I feel too tired most days to do anything with them.

I have been to the GP 2 months ago and she just laughed at me and told me to stop being silly and every woman with a 4 month old is tired. She just said some women cope better than others. But DS2 has slept through since about 3 months old. So I personally don't think it can be because I have a young baby.

Any ideas?

Go back and insist of having your bloods checked.
It is most likely that you are just tired from family life, but it could be a number of other things. Excessive tiredness can be a symptom of many things.
How old are you?
Do you have night sweats?
Aching joints/limbs?
Any swellings in your neck/armpits or groins?
You could be anaemic, possible early menopause etc.
All unlikely, but a check of your bloods can rule all these things out.

I would ask to have your thyroid checked. I felt the same and was diagnosed with an overactive thyroid.
Other symptoms include-

loss of weight
palpitations
anxiety

Forget the rest, do a search

I am 23. I was anaemic just after having DS2 so I was thinking it could be that. I do have aching joints, I have torn my knee ligaments.

What's your diet like? How much water do you drink? And do you take any exercise? (apart from running around after small children!)

My diet is quite good as I am doing WW to lose weight so I am eating very healthily. I drink about 1.5 litres of water and do exercise dvds about 4-5 times a week. Maybe that is what is making me feel so bad.

I do have a GP appointment this afternoon for something else so I might mention it.

Definitely ask your GP. It does sound like excessive tiredness.

Do mention it to your GP. A full blood work check is what you need to start with.
Considering you are 23 it's unlikey it's early menopause .

Well the GP thinks it is normal tiredness. Which is really upsetting as it means there is nothing they can do. I am having blood tests done though.

Normal tiredness is agood thing as it means it should eventually pass. It's good they are doing bloods as if these all come back within normal range then you can be reassured it's nothing to worry about.

What are you eating on your WW diet? Are you eating enough - especially if you're doing all that exercise.

Get a full blood test including haemoglobin] iron, ferritin and vitamin b12 as well as thyroid - all these can cause tiredness.

I am eating enough. I'm doing it with help from the GP so I see them every 2 weeks and they check everything.

I'm being tested for blood sugars, iron and thyroid. That is all the GP said I needed testing for.

How about trying some supplements? Vitamin B complex can help with energy levels, so try something like Berocca.

I'm impressed that your GP is helping with your WW! Bet that keeps you on the straight and narrow!

It does but he also understands if I have a bit of a bad day!!

I was thinking about getting some vitamins. So I'll get some today and try them out.
