Cramping after period and weird discharge.....

I never normally get any period pains but today I have fairly bad cramping in my lower abdomen (seems to be more to the right side). I have taken some ibuprofen so am feeling ok at the moment. My period started on Tuesday and has just ended today so why am I getting these pains?

I have also had a problem for the 9 days or so before my period started that I seemed to have an excessive amount of discharge/lubrication to the point that the dampness was giving me a rash on my inner thighs and I had to wear a sanitary towel (it wasn't sweat as my knickers were very wet too). When I wiped the discharge was not thick it was almost watery but almost greeny yellow in colour. Sorry bit TMI!

Any ideas?

Thanks

It sounds like you have an infection if you have had green discharge. You need to pop and have a chat with your GP as you may need some antibiotics.

I agree - sounds like an infection (I've had similar thing and was given antibiotics). I would either go to GP or if you can't get an app' soonish then try the GUM clinic.

Thanks ladies.

The pain is still there and I feel a bit sick too now. Will call up the GP tomorrow.

Ibuprofen is helping the pain a bit but the whole area is very tender.

Just got back from the docs. It is a bad infection that has now spread to my womb and ovaries. Have 2 weeks of antibiotics to take and some strong painkillers. He took some swabs to see what the infection is and he carefully asked if DH or I have been unfaithful - eek! Not to my knowledge!
