Pressure in back of head

I have a feeling of pressure - not painful at all but an awareness of sensation - in a patch on the back of my head. Am worrying about it because SIL has a brain tumor and I am probably a bit over-anxious. Have been to the doc who says to monitor it and come back in a couple of weeks - they always say that - but did take it seriously and asked lots of questions about feeling sick, limping etc have no other symptoms. Blood pressure good etc. The doctor did say 'It's very odd' a couple of times which isn't that reassuring. I have been through some very stressful years - dealing with many deaths and upsetting family illnesses so the doc did think tension might have something to do with it.

Also had cranial osteopathy and the osteo said it is due to nerves being constricted in back of neck due to extreme stress. Obviously would like to think it is that but have never had this sensation. Am aware of it most of the time but that might be because I am worrying.

Has anyone else had an odd creeping pressure sort of sensation on their head and what was it?

I get it - it is related to tension. When I get it I now know to stop and look at what my upper body is doing. Without realising it I am clenching my jaw and tensioning my shoulder muscles. This leads to the sore pressurised patch on the back of my head and can develop into a full blown tension headache. I have now learnt (well, am trying to learn) to 'relax'.

Sorry you are going through a tough time.

Thanks everyone. I think it is related to stress or sinuses maybe but having so many bad diagnoses of things in the family has made me more edgy. A bit of a vicious circle probably. Will go back to the doc in a week or two if no change.
