does anyone know if topical canesten is safe whilst breastfeeding? Live yoghurt aint working and i was forced to buy some canesten last week, have been using tiny amounts but not sure if safe. Haven't had thrush for yonks, suddenly arrived with a vengeance.

Is it dornstairs thrush or on your breasts? If its your breasts I wouldnt risk it. See your GP or HV.

I thing so. Wouldnt use the pessary if you got one tho. Just incase.
I had thrush on nipples when I was bf and I had to put creme on after a feed and makesure i washed it off before next feed, so I dont think it passes through to bm.

I'm pretty certain it can't get through your down belows to your mammary glands and even if it could get through all those layers it would be in minute amounts and not a danger to your baby

It will stop you scratching agains the furniture too which may be a blessing
