That's bile. Tastes really gross, right?

How often are you throwing up? Are you pregnant?

Throwing up bile can damage the throat (you start throwing up blood), and if you're not pregnant, there's a jab they can give you to make it stop. Very worthwhile. But you can't have it if you could be pregnant.

I think if vomiting continues past 24 hours, and you can't get anything down, you need to see a doctor. Can you get/keep water down?

Ive been sick about 20 times since 4.30 am yesterday. My throat is ripped apart by the force/heat of the stuff.
Im drinking water and its not immedieadtley coming back up.

Call your GP. I'm pretty sure you can get the jab, if you're not expecting.

What do you think triggered it?

I had something like this, years ago. Throwing up really hard every 20 minutes, bile, blood. Just for a few hours. Had the jab, felt better in half an hour.

What does the jab do?
If it stops me spewing will the bug not fester inside?

I think when you stop throwing up food, the bug is gone, your body's just got stuck in "vomit" mode. A doc would know better than me, obviously. If you're not dehydrated, you can wait longer, but your throat will be sore.

The odd thing is is there was no food...even though id had dinner and a pizza the night before. it started off in bile mode. AAAAAAARRRRRRGGGGHHHHHHHH.

I'm pregnant and my morning sickness is (still sigh) like this, even if I happily stuff my face the night before it'll be bile in the morning.... it's nasty! Get the injection! I want the injection!

It was like 5 years ago, so I don't remember that clearly, but I think the fact I was throwing up bile was one of the reasons the emergency on-call doctor wanted me to come in.

That and the fact he could hear me throwing up with great vigor in the background while DH was talking to him.

If you call it in, the GP may tell you to go to the emergency room - I don't know if they normally have the drug in surgeries. It's an intramuscular shot, so it's a bit painful. But very worth it.

And gosh, fastasleep, that's got to really suck.

It's funny, the episode I had, years ago, turned me from someone who didn't mind puking, and who would make herself throw up if needed, to someone who's ... well, I'm not phobic of puking, but I really really really don't ever want to.
