Since she got home about an hour ago dd has been scratching and scratching at her legs, they are red raw now and she's drawn blood.

No where else itches,, just her legs.

What can it be ?? and what can i do ???

nutcracker Mon 18-Apr-05 17:03:14

anyone ???

nutcracker Mon 18-Apr-05 17:17:17

No one know ???? Please, she is nearly crying

SoupDragon Mon 18-Apr-05 17:19:57

Has she been out in long grass or something?

nutcracker Mon 18-Apr-05 17:20:19

Nope but she has been swimming

iota Mon 18-Apr-05 17:20:27

could it be aqn allergy - new socks? long grass? Try giving her some antihistamine and a bath

sparklymieow Mon 18-Apr-05 17:20:41

has the school had their grass cut today and was she wearing a skirt?? I am alleric to grass and it hurts.

SoupDragon Mon 18-Apr-05 17:20:58

Try putting a cold flannel on them. Or an antihistimine cream. Or take piriton/benadryl syrup

Titania Mon 18-Apr-05 17:21:04

i would give her a bath and get all the chlorine off her. If you have any cream if any kind, it will help.

iota Mon 18-Apr-05 17:21:08

perhaps it's chlorine - give her a bath and rub in some moisturiser

nutcracker Mon 18-Apr-05 17:21:26

Haven't got any antihistamine stuff .

No new socks, haven't changed powder or anything

SoupDragon Mon 18-Apr-05 17:21:40

Stronger chlorine than usual maybe? Odd that it's just her legs in that case.

nutcracker Mon 18-Apr-05 17:22:06

Ok will dunk her in the bath and smother on cream , have only got sudocrem though, will that do ???

SoupDragon Mon 18-Apr-05 17:22:15

Do you have any Medised? That's got antihistimine in it.

sparklymieow Mon 18-Apr-05 17:22:41

Nc has the school cut the grass today??

SoupDragon Mon 18-Apr-05 17:22:47

See if the bath works - plain cool water only.

nutcracker Mon 18-Apr-05 17:22:52

Ahh yes i do, forgot that had it in, will give her some of that too, thanks.

nutcracker Mon 18-Apr-05 17:23:16

Doubt it Sm it has been peeing it down all day.

SoupDragon Mon 18-Apr-05 17:23:31

Sometimes, if they think you've given them a medicine that will help, it does

iota Mon 18-Apr-05 17:24:50

my legs are sometimes a bit itchy after swimming - the more you scratch the worse it is.. Moisturiser/body lotion helps

nutcracker Mon 18-Apr-05 17:25:26

Thanks all , she's got cold flannels on them now, she said it is helping.

Hi is she complaining her legs are sore as well as itchy specially in the joints at the back of her legs?

nutcracker Mon 18-Apr-05 17:28:29

She said they are sore and itchy all over, it's mostly her thighs i think.

nutcracker Mon 18-Apr-05 17:29:09

She won't let me touch them at the mo.

Kidstrack2 Mon 18-Apr-05 17:36:28

It was just that My son two years ago complained for a few days of sore legs especially the joints at the back and it turned out it was HSP. Its probably not what your dd has got but if she develops a purple rash at the tops of her legs then thats what it will be. Please don't be alarmed I'm not trying to scare you it just sounds the same symptoms. But as your daughter has been swimming it may be the water. Hope she gets better soon.
