my doctor said to give it a go for feeling low, anmd lack of sex drive - i am always a bit wary of supplements - anyone had any experience of it, does it work?

It's more widely prescribed in Germany for low level depression than conventional anti-depressants, if that reasssures you. I took it for a few months when I had a miscarriage (I didn't want to go back on anti-d's as I wanted to try to conceive again, and SJW is easier to come off). It worked well for me. I have no idea about sex drive - anti d's suppress it as a rule, don't know about SJW. It's worth a go though.
