you are having an awful run of it. Thats the problem really - once one thing goes wrong it just seems to cascade.

I do agree

I am going to take some more co-codamol to go to sleep with

Then I won't be able to have any more until 2:30 - Boy do I hope I go to sleep

Last time it was this bad it was early Feb 2000 - I remember it vividly

Poor you KM.

Mine is bad at the moment too.

Have changed diet to include more fruit and veg, but it's really messing my digestion up.

My GP told me not to increase my F&V as it would be 'dangerous'

Well I haven't.....so much for that

This is awful it isn't tummy pain (iykwim) it's bowel pain & I hate it

I swing between being constipated and the complete opposite , often in the same day!

The trouble is that I'm trying to lose weight, so need to eat more F&V.

Do Buscopan or Colofac work for you?

I find Colofac much more effective.

I have tended to use diet & Colpermin - I stopped taking medication (as such) about 7 yrs ago

But I may go & get some after this bout - mind you I am sure it is to do with either the Kidney Stones I don't have or the D&V bug I had a week ago

My poor IBS is having a hard time atm

I managed without medication for about 3 years, but have had to take a few tablets recently.

I'm under lots of stress at the moment as well.

I've found that aloe vera works really well for me too. Have you ever tried it?

Your D&V bug could definitely have upset your digestion.

You don't have to eat more fruit to diet.

Have you (either of you) tried cutting down on carbohydrate - or at least cutting down on carbohydrates that come from refined foods such as sugar, bread and pasta? This also includes fruit, btw (not that they're refined!)

Try and get your carbs from vegetables/salad instead.

It has really helped me with my IBS.

Actually DH is starting to wonder if this pain is to do with my IBS

The last time it was this bad it was a burst ectopic pregnancy

It is like someone stabbing me in my backside

I wonder if a hot bath might help just a little. Its hard to concentrate on work if you're in pain.

Report
morningsun · 24/02/2009 13:43

is it definitely ibs~watch out for weight loss, chronic diarrhoea, blood or slime in stool, which can then be other things.

Report
KatyMac · 24/02/2009 14:10

Weighloss....I don't think so
Chronic Diarrhoea.....this is my life
No blood either - tell me more about slime

How bath would be (will be) lovely - but I have mindees atm so no chance of that - unless they all came with me

Aloe Vera - I'd try a health food shop - I get it from my reflexologist
