Dd (8mths) has yellow spots on her only 2 teeth!! Will they all be like that?

Dd's first teeth came through a couple of months ago, the 2 bottom ones. I noticed right away that both of them had a yellow mark right in the centre at the top of the tooth! It looks like a tiny bit of decay.

I spoke to the HV who said she'd never heard of that and told me to make an appointment at the dentist for her. She goes next week.

However, I've now been told that it could be antibiotics during pregnancy that cause this! I had 6 course during the pregnancy, including one strong course for a nasty UTI which threatened labour at 24wks. I was never informed that AntiB's may effect the development of my babies teeth. 2 of the courses I was prescribed for suspected UTI's were precautionary and the lab results came back normal, but I'd already completed the course anyway!

Will all of her baby teeth be like this? Will this have damaged her adult teeth too? I'm really concerned about this.

I suppose that's one way to spend her CTF when she's 18..... getting her teeth fixed!

Any advice/info appreciated.

PHEW! Thanks Nailpolish! They really should inform you of that. Like I said there were at least 2 courses prescribed that were totally unnecessary.

Poor lamb, I feel so guilty, but what could I have done?
I hope the rest come through normal. One of the things everyone comments about with ds is his lovely teeth.... poor dd has been sentenced to years of horrible yellow-spotted teeth until her big ones come through.

Bump

Anyone else got any experience of this? Just worried her teeth will rot out her head before she's 3.
