Hello, I'm a first timer here, having been dipping in for a long time and now teething (or lack of it) has driven me to get in touch........ My 13 month old has no teeth, no signs of them either and the longer it takes the more it's becoming a big issue with me..... does anyone have any advice, am worried that it's slowing down her ability to take on more solid foods/finger foods etc....? Thanks

I have read that some children take a very long time to get teeth, but that they have extraordinary powers with "gumming" so not to worry about food intake. I suppose you could go to a children's dentist for a consult to ease your mind.

My DD got her first tooth at 11 months. When she was 18 months she still only had 4 teeth. But they seemed to come one after the other and they were all there by the time she turned 2.

A friend of mine claimed she was so worried about her DD's lack of teeth, that she got a dentist to x-ray her gums. Not sure if I believe a dentist would do this or not but if it will set your mind at ease then why not enquire?

DD is 6 now and still no sign of a wobbly tooth!

I shouldn't worry. They will come and eating shouldn't be affected. I took DS1 to the dentist who is amazed at the amount of baby teeth he still has. He is 12
