i have lumps on my ovaries and im scared

gp discovered lumps on my ovaries when checking my coil,im going for an ultra sound on thur and im petrified, my mother had this and it was thybroids and ended up with a hystorectomy.have any of you ladies experianced this,what could it be

No personal experience, but if it is fibroids I know that these days doctors have a lot of success using lasers and a little scope inserted into your belly, rather than a full blown operation, but it really depends on what the lumps are, how large the lumps are and how deeply they're attached to your ovaries... I do know that they'll do everything that they can to save your ovaries...if the worst comes to the worst maybe they could salvage some eggs so that you could have IVF later....there are so many things that they can do now! My mum had a cyst on her ovaries. She had it removed, nothing else touched and the scar is so discreet you can't see it at all.
Try not to worry too much.
If there is more than one lunp it could be cysts or fibroids but the surgical techniques have really moved on. I think cysts can sometimes be treated without surgery too.

i need a lesson in anatomy i meant my cervix,but i geuss it could just be a syst there.thanks for your kind words
