When he phones get him to ask if there is anything he can take that might help such as calcium.
I think it is quite rare for bones not to have fused at all in 3 months. I'd get him to push for the consultant to do an action plan such as if by this date this hasn't happened then we are going to do this...if you get what I mean. It will give your dh some control back in his treatment.
