DD just turned 4, and we have been very fortunate that she has been so healthy....until last night. She vomited over everything in her bedroom last night. She's listless this morning, and complaining that her tummy hurts - but hasn't been sick again. What should I give her to eat/drink today? Anythngs we should avoid?

Know she needs something in her body, but don't want to upset her tummy again. Suggestions please from those who've been there!

i used to give warm milk cos i thought that it would get some nutrients into poorly babies. then gp told me milk is worst thing as it goes off so quick so can actually make things worse! make sure she has water - give her a few sips every five minutes. she will cope without food but you have to make sure she doesnt get dehydrated. hope she is better soon

Hope your DD feels better soon hopefully its just a 24hr bug mine all had it over Christmas! I always stick by my Mums advice - sips of water, dry bread, no dairy, have you got any re-hydration powder? if no very weak juice later on if she manges to keep water down. Tummy probably hurting cause of the vomiting.
Good luck !

I wouldn't give any food, just sips of water maybe sweetened with sugar, or flat lemonade. No food for a day won't hurt her at all so long as she's hydrated.

I live in dread of this happening with dd, she's 2.5 and hasn't had a tummy bug yet ...
