My daughter is 19 months and has a cold. I am trying to get Calpol down her but failing. She won't have the strawberry flavoured day version and the night time one is out of the question.

I've put it in fromage frais, made milkshakes and smoothies. I have tried a syringe and nearly choked her.

Any ideas????

we have to give dd about 20 ml's of medicine 3 times a day. Only way is too drip it in slowly via syringe.
Takes bloody ages. If it wasn't vital Iwouldn't bother!

When you use srynge put it in side of mouth next to cheeks, it's only way ds will take medicine.

I think that if they are feisty enough to fight the Calpol, then they don't need it!

Sounds as if Riven agrees with me - and she knows what she's talking about!

Calpol won't stop the rivers of snot - sadly!

Have you tried a little eucalyptus oil wafted around the room?

calpol wont stop snot. Medised might dry some of it up for nighttime sleeping BUT it triggered dd's seizures. Now dd has epilepsy anyhow but anything that affects the brain would make me go
