Anyone know of sportsmen with impaired peripheral vision?

friends child has lost some peripheral vision (very premature) and as they are a sports mad family they are grieving for this. Any sportspeople I can quote who manage without it?

Depends on how much vision, but things like rowing don't need much, judo requires no peripheral vision as its all very direct, and I'd imagine that most athletics would be pretty much OK as would track cycling.

Even if they have lost a lot of vision, then theres a thriving visually impaired sports scene - you only had to watch the VI football at the paralympics to appreciate that.

I'd suggested golf and archery as possibilities. Will have a look at the paralympics.

He has glaucoma - not sure whether or not that affects peripheral vision

Yes Glaucoma does affect peripheral vision - thank you so much for mentioning him.
