I think it should be ok. Keep a check on him. DS1 had a high temp a few weeks back but nothing else. He was fine in himself but slept in the day, which was unusual for him. He seemed to get worse in the evening but then was fine again the next day. Went on for about 3 days and was suddenly over. Not sure if it's the same thing, but keep an eye on him and if you feel worried at all go to the gps. hth wishing him better

Think the guide lines are if the temps still up after 3 days get is checked out. Just give lots of hugs and kisses in the mean time.

he could be going down with something, which has not yet 'appeared' IYKWIM. i'd just keep an eye out for other symptoms.

Hi, I posted a few days ago because my ds had a very high temp, its lasted a week , and taken calpol and nurofen to get it under control, no other symptoms though,(checked reguarly for rashes, etc) be careful you're not making him too hot when cuddling, keep only a light sheet over him if hes in your bed, and make sure he has plenty of fluids !
I've phoned our GP and nhs help line in the last 5 days,do get help if your worried.

Dior, We had this with DD1, and she ended up having a urinary tract infection. you should definitely take your DS to see the doctor if he still has a fever. He may need an antibiotic.

DS had this last week, high temp 39.5 for 2 days but no other problems except he slept a lot more than usual and didn't eat very much and then he was fine. Apparently lots of kids in his school have had this too and I had it 2 weeks ago. Most bizarre, no idea what it is but we've all recovered which is the main thing. Dior, hope your DS getts better soon and Ooogs, go to bed now whilst your DS is asleep otherwise you'll never get through the day and possibly another disturbed night!

My DS1, who is nearly 4 had this the other night -a temp but nothing else and is fine now - my FIL, (who is a paedratician) says this can also happen when kids are growing - literally!

We have the same thing, hence why I came searching for a thread with this in it
DD's (28mths) temp is sky high have tepid sponged calpol and nurofen and stripped in cool room, only came down to 39.6!
Dh and DS has similar thing over the last few weeks so am assuming it's the same thing.
I'm worried though as her temp ain't coming down to a manageable one as yet.
She deals with high temps well though, she had measles and temps of 42, scary but she is pretty stout, but am still panicking underneath
What else can I try anyone?

my ds had something like this for about 3 weeks end of jan early feb. his temp was consistently about 38-39, brought down by calpol, and going up again when that wore off. he was intermittently perky and knackered/asleep. he had a couple of days of a 40deg temp, but otherwise it was low-is grade. he did have a bright red face one afternoon which made us think there was an element of slapped cheek virus, but don't really know. took a while for him to really fully recover. good luck!
