Period's 6 days late, I'm not pregnant ...what else could this be?

Well, dh has had the snip and the asda test says not pregnant, so what on earth could be causing this?

I'm not particularly stressed about anything but the only time i've ever been late in the past has been when I'm pregnant.

I'm a regular as clockwork 28 dayer though, which is why this feels odd.

I only saw my gp last Wednesday about my fanjo (feels different since the dts came along) but she said all looked fine and dandy. I've got to ring for swab results this week anyway, so I might book another appointment if period''s not come by then.

Okay, back again. I phoned for swab results and have to go in to see the nurse tomorrow - they wouldn't say why - AND my period's still not here.

Have checked and double checked that my dates are not wrong - but swabs wouldn't detect pg anyway would they?

Anyone have any ideas what could be wrong that would make my period late?

Starting to worry now

Your cycle can do odd things after you've had children. For some women it's the miracle cure (as told to me, in front of Mum, at the age of 13 by my GP!) and some it can mess up something that was working ok before.

hmmm was thinking it might have been more recent and that you may have a infection from the birth that might then go on to delay your period....but i am sure you would have noticed something by now!

bit odd, my youngest twins are nearly 4 and had a couple of strange periods, 3 weeks late a few times.

It will probably arrive soon not kinowing what all the fuss was about

I skipped a period once and went running to the doctor - first I'd missed ever and I thought there was something wrong. The Dr shrugged and said "happens all the time" then she told me to come back if i didn't have a period for three months, but otherwise not bother her with trivia! (Not her exact words but adding body language and disinterest this is what she was saying).

That was eight years ago and sure enough I haven't missed any periods since, except through pregnancy.

Not sure if this reassures you at all, but in your shoes i'd wait another month before even thinking of taking time out to go to the GP.
