Hi all...

as a regular cold sore sufferer (passed down from generation to generation) i was wondering if any of you were fellow sufferers, as i have found near enough a "cure" for them, that you might want to give a try.

dh uses virulite Thought it was going to be bit snake medicine like but actually its been extraordinarily good. Seems to heal them much faster than anything else and hes not had one since spring despite going hiking in strong sunshine over the summer.

The dr gave me zovirax (aclovoir)tablets you take 5 a day for 5 days anytime you don't have to have a cold sore. Then for the next 12 months you have no cold sores or if you do it's a very very mild attack. It's fab.

I have a miracle cure that I read about ages ago. Lysine which you can get from health food shops. When one starts to tingle take 3 or more every day for the duration of the sore. A whopper that would normally take 10 days clears in about 4 and the pain goes quickly.

I like the idea of zovirax (aclovoir)tablets, can you get them over the counter or do you have to go to the dr? so you only take 25 tablets, then you dont get a cold sore in a year??

Mine is something called Liquorice Balm, only place I can find it is in the skin shop (online). Basically, if I feel any tingle I put it on (alot to make sure) and then I dont get the coldsore at all, next day no symptoms or anything. I use it like normal lip ice when im in the sun on holiday (which always used to give me cold sores), and still no cold sores... highly recommend it to everyone.
