has any body got any tips for speeding my recovery from shinsplints, running is my key to sanity but have had to so much just lately i'm in agony. HELP PLEASE!!!!!

Not much advice but can sympathise as my DH has had shin splints recently. He is training for the Bristol half marathon. All he could do was rest for a few weeks.
