For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

i didnt notice that you had spelt alfalfa wrong until you pointed it out smile

FrannyandZooey Wed 20-Aug-08 13:22:17

FMF my friend told me funny story about when her dd was born. Her dp was bringing her 4 y o ds in to visit them in hospital and he took him to town first to buy a toy (in a kind of guilty "you can choose anything you like so you don't feel we love the new baby more than you" way). He picked a Star Wars costume and turned up at the postnatal ward in head to toe Darth Vadar regalia. With a light sabre. In blazing summer. And every one of her photos of the family with their new baby has a mini Darth Vadar in.

FrannyandZooey Wed 20-Aug-08 13:48:15

they played that parachute game at the children's show where they shout out "who likes chocolate?" "who likes bananas?" and everyone who likes the thing runs underneath

"who likes brussels sprouts?"
DS1 is of course only one running under - doesn't realise it was meant to be a joke
and he does really like them

zippitippitoes Wed 20-Aug-08 13:49:07

lol

suggest they do mangoes

OsmosisBanana Wed 20-Aug-08 14:14:55

Am back from micro meet. Maybe should have told TooT about my tail, she looked a little startled by me wink

Beautiful children, I am going to start training DD's 3 hairs in ringlets that fall about her shoulders. DH doesn't even behave so well when in St Nicks market surrounded by bright and shiny objects.

fullmoonfiend Wed 20-Aug-08 14:56:28

lol franny. My friend's ds went through a stage of dressing exclusively in his action man costume hmm which was fine until the preschool nativitry play.

He refused to take part unless he could wear his costume. The photos are a treat, 2 wise men and Action Man at the baby jesus's crib...

fullmoonfiend Wed 20-Aug-08 14:57:47

I'm shocked by your appearance! I expected multi-coloured dreads somehow...

OsmosisBanana Wed 20-Aug-08 15:01:29

Weeeeellll, there is a pic on my Face Book with the multicoloured dreads and face full of metal.

Had to go.

Maybe now I'm go back to uni they will resurface again. Had to go undercover dread for a bit.

fullmoonfiend Wed 20-Aug-08 15:46:28

I knew it...

berolina Wed 20-Aug-08 16:35:31

hello all

have started having doubts about nanny-type person who is supposed to be coming to look after ds2 three mornings a week when I am at work <sob> and dh is working at home (MIL is coming in the afternoons, that is a whole new thread tbh). I informally offered her the job, then slowly started realising that I had gone against my instinct or rather my instinct started jumping around and whispering, then shouting rather a lot. I interviewed someone else today and like her more - a lot more. Cripes. What to do? I have emailed the other one changing the terms of the job in a way that is likely to put her off shock

Have sweet potato and courgette from our veg box roasting in the oven, with home-grown basil, thyme and oregano

zippitippitoes Wed 20-Aug-08 16:43:27

oh if you have decided ypou dont really want her then dont have her

i think this applies to anything in life

if yoiu have doubts you can never be happy tryiung to do the silk purse thing

if that is not a rubbish not quite right image

OsmosisBanana Wed 20-Aug-08 16:49:02

I am hungry. And looking for a glue gun. Have decided against doing any sewing for costumed thing, just gluing.

Don't think you can sew with fun fur very well anyway can you?

zippitippitoes Wed 20-Aug-08 17:02:28

this application form is killing me

i think i should get the job just for taking so bloody long in filling it in and a bonus wage for being so pocney and arse licking

SuperBunny Wed 20-Aug-08 18:01:48

I didn't notice alfalfa was spelt wrong either.

Am glad zippi is back. What;s the application for?

Hope eye apt went well toot.

Bero, you have to trust your instinct. Sorry

Um, cheese, lentil and Carrot wedges with corn and roast spuds.

I shouted at DS this morning and made him cry sad

zippitippitoes Wed 20-Aug-08 18:11:36

well possibly having just written that i nshould keep the actual who i have applied to secret lol

who is superbunny?

FrannyandZooey Wed 20-Aug-08 18:11:55

cabbage
broccoli
squash
corn

right a question
ILs have not visited or sent card or phoned or shown slightest bit of interest in birth of ds2. Oh well actually I think they phoned once, about 10 days after he was born. DP did text them when he arrived but we heard nothing back.

anyway I am ordering some prints of photos to send to friends and relatives
should I send some to ILs? it seems churlish not to, however pearls before swine springs to mind

zippitippitoes Wed 20-Aug-08 18:17:06

yes you have to send them photos

being unbearably nice and completely ignoring peoples twatness is quite enjoyable

TooTicky Wed 20-Aug-08 18:27:01

We're back <slump>
I think I talked rubbish to OB through a haze of exhaustion. Dd2 talked more than I did and took a real shine to OB, even telling her the daily joke and quoting books at her.
OB's hair is a bit like mine grin but she wears hers better.
Ds2's appt was okay, just routine questions and a bit of measuring. Ds2 was v. v. tired though and barely spoke. Was a bit concerned after he collapsed in a heap with sudden tummy ache after we got off the train but he did perk up.
Both he and dd2 were Fairly Challenging on the train back and I didn't have the energy to engage them in games and stories. Resorted to " I TOLD you not to wander about. Now you'll have to sit with me." blush

Oh Bero, I think you have to do what feels best for you and ds2. Good luck.

TooTicky Wed 20-Aug-08 18:27:57

Hope you get the job Zippi smile
