shock

They are on the very highest shelf in the kitchen. He climbed on several things to get there.

He has either eaten the foil or one 20mg capsule. He just says yeh to both in a vague way hmm

Worried He's fine in himself, but it is just minutes since it happened.

CountessDracula Fri 15-Aug-08 09:49:39

how old is he?

Flamesparrow Fri 15-Aug-08 09:52:11

2 1/2

psychomum5 Fri 15-Aug-08 09:53:54

oh jeez.......he will be fine but prepare to go in!!!!

<<<hugs>>>

ring me as soon as you are able sweetie

Mamazon Fri 15-Aug-08 09:55:21

how long ago did he take it?
if its within a few minutes maybe if you give him smoe salt water to encourage him to vomit it may come out?

Im sure he will be fine but deffo get confirmation from NHS direct.

psychomum5 Fri 15-Aug-08 09:55:21

I know this is horrid, but could you try and make him gag and be sick???? tis not like liquic that might burn him coming back, a tab, this quick, would not yet start to disolve!

Flamesparrow Fri 15-Aug-08 09:55:45

All ok - well below the worrying amount

NormaStanleyBelcher Fri 15-Aug-08 09:55:51

Flameboy will be a world class rock climber when he grows up

<<looks on bright side? hmm>>

Hope all is ok flame

psychomum5 Fri 15-Aug-08 09:56:29

and anything regarding NHS direct means take them in, you know thatwink!!!

when max drank massage oil they sent an ambulance!

Jas Fri 15-Aug-08 09:56:34

I agree, you'll need to get him seen, but he will be fine.

Flamesparrow Fri 15-Aug-08 09:56:56

<collapses in small relieved heap>

psychomum5 Fri 15-Aug-08 09:57:35

serioiusly, they said OK!!!

<<thud, shock>>

I mean, I am thrilled, but still, NHS direct normally means, "take them in we know nothing"!!

Jas Fri 15-Aug-08 09:57:40

Aah X posts.smile

Now go and lock the rest in a big metal box!

psychomum5 Fri 15-Aug-08 09:58:52

assuming you will now be buying lockable cupboards to put him in store all your precious stuff!

Flamesparrow Fri 15-Aug-08 10:00:15

Believe me - I am on freecycle for a box now, and if no luck by the end of the day I will be buying one.

Apparently it would take 3 pills to cause symptoms, and 5 before they do anything.

psychomum5 Fri 15-Aug-08 10:00:19

did they say what it could do to him tho???

I mean, would this mean he will just be very very sleepy for the next day or so.....(not that you need him to sleep or anythingwink)

psychomum5 Fri 15-Aug-08 10:01:11

will it take away his climbing skills.....<<ponders>>

Flamesparrow Fri 15-Aug-08 10:02:13

sick and whingy for just "symptoms"

Flamesparrow Fri 15-Aug-08 10:02:54

Nah, he'll be happier and more likely to climb

TrinityRhino Fri 15-Aug-08 10:04:52

this reminds me of when I didn't bother ringing nhs 24 and just took dd2 to a and e as she had been at 100mg slow release voltarol shock

very old sachet in very old jacket (dh used to need them with him everywhere)

cleaning out cupboard, didn't notivce them fall out of jacket

no idea how many were in it
dound her with one in her mouth and one very sucked and more on floor

could have had 10 in the sachet but was only 5 in view

spent 6 hours in the childrens ward with a completely fine and bubbly dd2

pronounced totally fine, probably just sucked off the colour of one and didn't bother cause they tatse gross

Flamesparrow Fri 15-Aug-08 10:08:23

Rare moment of praise for NHS Direct - they were really really good. Answered just before I pressed send on the OP, so within 10 mins had sorted it.

Very reassuring nurse. Told me exactly what she was doing all the time.

psychomum5 Fri 15-Aug-08 10:08:55

add to you hunt then a short leash to tie him somewhere, bungee style so he does not get hurt (IYGWIM).....then attach it to the firthest point away from anything climable (sp?).....

psychomum5 Fri 15-Aug-08 10:09:44

ignore all typos.......hands still not working with my brain (not that my brain worked well anyway!)

Hangingbellyofbabylon Fri 15-Aug-08 10:17:24

wow, I've only just seen this. I'm glad nhs direct were good and that flameboy will be ok.

Flamesparrow Fri 15-Aug-08 10:18:02
