I have a 7 MO DS who is in bad teething pain, all four upper incisors coming through simultaneously. Can I give him ibuprofen and paracetamol at the same time?

I think you give it apart between 2 hours so

12am paracetamol
2am ibuproven
4am para

then your ds will get relief consistantly not just in 4 hourly bursts.

I think ibuprofen is the best for teething pain btw, but dont give on an empty stomach if you can help it.

I wouldn't give both simultaneously to a child.

Quoting from an NHS Direct page.

''Ibuprofen and paracetamol can be taken alternately over the course of a day as long as you do not exceed their maximum dose for each. Follow the manufacturer's instructions carefully. However, children must not be given both ibuprofen and paracetamol. You must either use one or the other. Using both could cause adverse side effects.''
