Dd(4yrs) has been complaining twice in the past few days about pains behind her knees to the point where she was actually in tears yesterday with it. I gave her some calprofen and it seemed to help after a while.
There has been a lot of change in her life recently so my mum thinks it might possibly be a bit of attention seeking comfort.
( We are living with my parents for a few weeks due to huge building renovations at our home and she has also left nursery this summer to start 'big' school in Sept)

Part of me agrees but part of me also agrees with dh that we need to check it out in case there is something more serious. Is this possible?

I had a friend whose daughter had this and she took her to the GP but they found nothing of concern. I think the conclusion was that she was growing and stretching and that caused her some pain which her anxiety about it then magnified. It was really upsetting for them all as she used to wake in the night with it. Take her to the GP to put your mind at rest but I doubt there's anything to it particularly. I wouldn't worry about the 'attention-seeking' aspect either. We all want attention - all it means is she is needing a little extra reassurance and with everything thats going on that's understandable. I bet you could do with a bit of that as well tbh?

thnaks, think I will check ehr out. I think it might just be growing and stretching.
Will get her check out just to make sure.

Having builder for 6mnths even if they are as great as ours has been has certainly been
a tiring time. But at least we are now at my parents in London while they knock down internal walls. Its a break for us all, so lovely not to wake up to builders arriving on site.
