he got very wet earlier having a water fight.

he has been crying in agony on and off since just after CvQ left here, so about 6ish?

dawned on me earlier that whenever he gets wet he gets very very bad earache....and it is on the side that he suffered rupture eardrums as a baby.

now, he has had full doses off calpol and nurofen, he is now on his third lot!

he has a hot water bottle (which was helping ealier but now seems not to be.

he is utterly inconsolable now......for most of this evening he has been lying across me, making me sweat, but happy enough to be close.

I am downstairs so as not to disturb the others........but he is now screaming and I do not know if there is anything else I can do.

I hate poorly kiddies, tis so rotten for them.

not sure what they would suggest TBH, and he is 6 and very very loud....they would not hear me, nor me them I fear!

thankyou for replying tho.

got the other son up now.....all the screaming woke him up and he never wakes normally.......I so hope he is not coming down with something too....

in fact, DH came home from holiday and was at the docs with a bad ear infection from the pool.....am wondering if both boys have also got something similar.

oooh.......that would be wonderful cali.

I will look to see first, but if so, I will call upon you.

the only thing I have seen here is hard plastic (DH got some a while back but they went to far down his ear canal so binned them and not tried since.

these are mouldable (sp?) which would suit far better I reckon.

he has finally stopped crying and kicking and screaming..... DS1 is sound asleep on the other settee, so I think I may be camping down with them both as I not disturbing them now!!!!

DH eventually came to find me as he cannot sleep well if I am not there (aww, he is sweet), and helped get the boys upstairs, and sort a camp for the poorly one.....who is now in bed with me as daddy has gone to work

docs will be rung later me thinks....

did you read my post......DD1 is at dancing, she therefore cannot look after the boys!!!!

I do however have my coffee set up, not IV-like as yet, but soon, soon.....

DD3 is sleeping, DS2 is up.......how that boy survives on the little sleep is amazing....he was also up!!!

My LO gets ear infections every holiday, the last one they prescribed all the usual stuff but added an anti hystamine (like Piriton). When we got back I took the drugs to our docs and checked them out and he said some countrys think they help as they reduce the fluid behind the ear drum. Worth a try ?

This year we took swim ear whic seemed to help as he didn't get the infection till the very last day (a miracle for us !)

he is still asleep....

not begrudging him the sleep, and I know I should relish the silence, but I want to sleep too and cannot

arghh.......

I am sleepy and headachy ans tired.

it does at least mean that his earache must have gone!

I hope he's better psychomum and that you managed to grab some sleep later.

Not sure if they'd work for what you need, but dh wears ear-plugs like these on his motorbike. They are soft mouldable ones. I'm not sure if they'd be OK for swimming (not sure how waterproof they'd be) but as long as they are in properly they should keep the water out. Just a thought, anyway.

Sending you 'get well' vibes.

I have only just got dressed!

he is now, finally awake......I went up about half hour ago to get me sorted and to check on him and he was just stirring.....now eating jam tarts.

he still has ear ache, but unless he starts wailing I am holding off from phoning d-doc and will head the the chemist instead to see if I can get some drops. he doesn;t have a fever so unsure if they would give him any meds right now.....

now on my 3rd coffee in an attempt to stay awake until DD2 needs collecting from the train (she is home is a few hours....woohooo.....missed her like crazy!)
