Chronic Urticaria- Alternative medicines

I have been suffering from chronic urticaria for last 5 months. My life has become a havoc. I have patches everywhere- mostly legs, arms, face, butt.. everywhere. I had a baby 9 months ago. My problems started 5 months right after a leaky wall in bedroom got fixed. Since then I have specklessly cleaned my bedroom, sheets, got carpet steam cleaned etc. I recently got allergy testing done-pollen, mold and pets- all were neagative. I was slightly allergic to mouse, but doc said its not enough to trigger a reaction like mine. I am a scientist and work with mouse. None of the anti-histamines seem to be working on me. I recently started using ayurvedic stuff- turmeric. Am also taking quercetin, and probiotics. I have cut out all caffiene, meat, eggs from my diet. I drink tons of green tea. I have also started taking some homeopathic medicines for last 10 days- seem to help a little bit- suppress the symptoms a little bit. Now I get spots only on my lower legs and some spots on my arms. Last night my legs were like pins and needles. Can someone suggest how long does it take for homeopathic medicine to take effect. Or any other alternative medicines.

Not one day ha gone by without any spots for me. The itch is killing me.

Could be an immune reaction to gluten after pregnancy, when hormones and immunity are settling down;
do you rely much on bread/cereals/pasta?

nina,
I am a herbalist but I cannot treat/diagnose you over the net, my suggestion would be that as you are already open to natural meds, go see a nearby herbalist, MIMH.org.uk to find your nearest one or e mail then with a few details to see if they can recommend someone with particular skill with your prob. quercetin is a good anti histamine sort of thing, tumeric is a good anti immflammotory. I would suggest you get a full allergy test done. one of the newer machines can test for around 2000 things with a higher degree of accuracy than ever before (you go along, talk to the practicioner and they can narrow down the testing range).
I often use nettle for this sort of thing though (on myself). it has good anti imflam properties, along with many nutrients good for the stomach etc.

nettles are called Urtica from the family Urticaceae, so this may give you a clue as to why they are beneficial????
I would drink regularly as a tea/infusion but you can get pills if you don't like the taste. also nettles make a good soup or alternative to greens/cabbage in your diet!!
