Hi have just come back from doc. And she is pretty convinced i have endometriosis. Have had endometriosis cysts but were removed 7 years ago. I am being referred to the gyna at hospital. But she was talking about hormone implants. Which sound delightful. Not!!

So does anyone have any experience of these implants and do they help with the endometriosis?

will google but trust mn's advice more!!

hmm I had synarel, a drug that induces the menopause, think it stops oestrogen production, I had a terrible terrible time without it was the blackest 6months of my life, my weight plumetted and I was a size 6, my boobs went, hair fell out on my legs and arms, hot flushes, depression you can't imagine, exhausted. I didn't like it very much at all. Not sure what the implants do but i would be very wary of hormone treatment. It only gave me respite too it wasn't a permanant fix either. I have since had great success with Chinese herbal medicine and accupuncture. If I had known about TCM then I wouldn't have endured the homone drug.

I had zolodex injections for 8 months for my endrometiosis.

It is injected monthly into your tummy. Can only have one cycle sue to the fact that it brings on a temporary menopase and therefore, effects you bones etc.

It didnt fix things, but I had no pain for the time using

I think it's the menopause drug but a different brand. I probably had bloody awful side-affects it might not be the same for someone else. You need a laparoscopy for a proper diagnosis. There's an endometriosis support group who will be able to help.

TMH did it do anything else? Weight gain? libido affected?
My doc said it was an injection in the arm and would be for 3 months worth.

Really dont want one that causes my weight to go up. One that makes me lose loads would be better!

I know its going to be up the the gyna who is lovely she delivered my last 3 babies and she is a star so i will trust her with whatever she advises. Its just the waiting!

My libido is as low as it gets as it is. Nothing sounds nice about these implants

www.endo.org.uk is the website of Endometriosis UK which as well as being a registered charity also has a wealth of information on it.

There message board on there is very informative and there is also a helpline number you can call too.

With endometriosis the more information you yourself have the better. Not all gynaes are as good at treating this by any means.

hello i am interested to speak to rebelmum1 who left a message back in july. I have 2 children and thats it for us! However i had had horrendous pain inside me since they were born and am about to have my 3rd zoladex injection. They have recommended 6 in total. I am terrified about coming off the injections as they have turned things around for me but was interested in the chinese medcine that you have taken / acupuncture as you have said that it helped you so much. I would be so grateful if you would be able to drop me a line. Thanks so much would so much appreciate it.

I have endo, DX 4yrs ago.

I had cysts and lessions(sp?) etc burnt off/cut away in nov 2005, plus the mirena coil inserted.

I have to say, apart from the first 6mths settling in period, I am happy with the mirena. I have had a few issues recently, but I think they are more to do with me reacting to my my DD1 and 2's hormones as they are going thro puberty at the mo, plus DD1 has recentlyt started her periods.
