ds2 will be 1yo on friday - was on verge of switching him to cows milk. BUT i think he's on his way down with chicken pox - if he's eating nothing is he better on formula than cows milk?

after that epic thread title, er, that's it

I don't think there's a lot of difference nutritionally, but I'd leave him on what he's used to if he's not feeling 100%, as he may be less hungry anyway.

thanks

i can only tempt him with dry breakfast cereal and grapes sad

i guess he's too young to be offered ice cream...?

giddykipper Tue 15-Jul-08 16:35:54

I'd offer him ice cream, but then I'm a soft touch

Don't make any changes if he is coming down with anything.

Why ice-cream?

Tutter Tue 15-Jul-08 16:37:40

i was serving some up for ds1 and thought "i bet he(ds2)'d eat this"

AMumInScotland Tue 15-Jul-08 16:39:31

I don't think there's any reason not to give icecream... though he may not like it!

AMumInScotland Tue 15-Jul-08 16:40:28

But if he's not well, just give him whatever he normally likes and don't worry if he doesn't fancy much. Just so long as he's geting enough fluids.

Iirc both of mine got a real shock the first time they tried it!

Tutter Tue 15-Jul-08 16:41:26

he's had tastes before, but i was thinking it might not be the mildest on his tummy

anyway he just refused it

grapes, cheerios and milk it is
