Cold/cough - how can I make dd more comfortable ?

We are on our third day of a nasty cough and cold with dd, aged 3 yr 5 months. Started on Tuesday evening with a barking cough and by Thursday she had a runny nose to go with it and has a feint bumpy rash on her tummy and back. She is very lethargic, having disturbed nights and looks pretty sad with heavy red eyes and sore nose. So far have dosed her up on cough stuff, have a Boots vaporiser going and put pillows under her mattress for nighttime.

She is currently watching Nick jr from the sofa and has dozed off a couple of times already today. Not eaten much, apart from some white buttons !, and is sipping water but refusing anything more substantial.

Also, her cough is less barking now but at what point would you worry enough to call a dr ?

Thanks in advance

Have you tried Medised before bed? it's got paracetemol and an antihistamine and it does seem to help them sleep.

The Medised seems to have done the trick. She slept better last night and is a bit perkier this morning - eaten some shreddies and now on her 2nd 100 piece puzzle. I'd never have heard of it without MN , thanks !!
